Chromotherapy, also called color light therapy, is included with every sauna session at Relax & Restore. Each of our Clearlight saunas has 96 LED lights and a handheld remote with 12 color settings, a brightness dimmer, and an Auto mode that moves through the colors every 25 seconds.
Clearlight chose each color based on its wavelength. Below are all 12, with the benefits Clearlight lists for each one in its owner's manual.
The warm colors
- Red. Activates the circulatory and nervous systems.
- Orange. Energizing, and helps reduce localized fat. May help with asthma and bronchitis.
- Yellow. Refreshes and purifies the skin. Helps with indigestion and physical stress.
- Strong Yellow. Strengthens the body and works on internal tissue.
- Strong Pink. Acts as a cleanser and strengthens the veins and arteries.
The balancing greens
- Green. Has a relaxing effect on the body.
- Strong Green. Anti-infectious, antiseptic, and regenerative stimulation.
The cool colors
- Blue. Stimulates muscle and skin cells, the nerves, and circulation.
- Strong Blue. Helps lubricate the joints. May help with infections, stress, and nervous tension.
- Indigo. Helps clear impurities from the bloodstream.
- Strong Indigo. May help with eye strain, eye inflammation, cataracts, and glaucoma.
- Violet. Relaxes the nerves and lymphatic system. May help with inflammation and urinary conditions.
How to use the remote
- Pick a color. Press Manual to step through the colors one at a time and stop on the one you want.
- Or let it cycle. Press Auto and the light changes to a new color every 25 seconds, so you experience the full range in one session.
- Set the brightness. Use the intensity buttons to dim the room to a soft glow or brighten it up.
Choosing a color for your mood
There is no wrong answer. A warm red or orange suits winding down after a long day, a cool blue or indigo feels calm in the evening, and green is a good pick when you simply want to feel balanced. Try a few and notice what feels best to you.
